ABOUT

Euro draft is a tournament involving free agents from all over the world, which through this tournament, are looking for future engagement to play in one of the European Professional Leagues. Euro Draft will be placed in Schwechat (Vienna, Republic of Austria), 15-17th June 2012.

Arrival at this tournament has already announced more than 30 representatives of professional basketball clubs across Europe (ABA League, Italian League, German Basketball Bundesliga, Austrian Bundesliga, Czech Republic League, Hungary A Division, Slovakian Extraliga, Swiss Basketball League, Belgium Ethias League, Swedish Basketball League, Croatian First League, Slovenian Telemach League…), which will observe and analyze the game and the basketball skills of each individual all three days and offer a contracts to players who meet their and clubs requirements. The concept of the tournament is composed so each player will have the opportunity to prove his basketball skills both personally and through the team. This is an ideal opportunity for players to ensure professional club for next season, but also for the clubs to assemble a roster and prepare for the next season.

Euro Draft is invitation only. In order to guarantee a high level and quality of this tournament the participation will only be approved after selection of our basketball experts. Our experts will select only players that meet high requirements of clubs representatives and Euro Draft tournament.

REGULATIONS

Games are played in four quarters of ten (10) minutes.Ten (10) minutes are allowed for a half-time break. If result is equal after regular period, teams will play overtime period in duration of five (5) minutes. All teams will be coached by professional coaches from all over the Europe. Every coach has a right to call four (4) time outs during the match.  (all other rules: FIBA )

6 (or 8) teams will participate in Euro Draft tournament and each team will be composed of 8 players. That means that 48 players will participate in Euro Draft. This system was developed in cooperation with professional basketball players and coaches who regard that this model will give every player best chance to prove his ability.

All games will be refereed by official licensed referees who will give explanation of European rules to every player who is not familiar with them.

Games will be recorded and all stats will be available after the games.

FORM

6 (or 8) teams will be placed in two (2) groups. That means that in each group would be 3 (or 4) teams. Best placed teams from each group advance to the Finals, while other teams go to the matches for the third, fifth and 7th place (in case that 8 teams will participate in the tournament).

This system provides each player to play at least 3 games. So that means that every player will get on average 100 minutes of pure game.

Game for first place would be played in front of the audience.

SCHEDULES

The schedule is composed roughly, and the organizers retain the right to change it.

SKILLS TRAINING

As part ofthe tournament we will organize skills training in which clubs representatives will check players skills in three basic basketball techniques such as passing, dribbling and shooting.

Handling

Training ground will be composed of a series of cones, between which players pass through with various techniques such as changes between the legs, front changes, and changes behind their back.

Passing

Below the conduct of the polygon, we will check the accuracy of your passing using the appropriate appliances. Speed and precision are extremely important, because the pass through the training ground will be measured and you will receive additional seconds for each failure, like dropping the ball, bad pass, etc. What all comes to your overall statistics for coaches.

Shooting

There will be checked shot capabilities from three positions for 3 points and two positions for 2 points. Each position will be performed by five shots and this drill will also be time limited.

1on1

All participants will be divided into pairs randomly, according to the positions they play. The rules are very simple, the game continues until someone hits the 3 points, with the whole time alternately playing defense and attack. Players from the positions 1, 2, 3 start at the top of three pointers line, while the players in positions 4 and 5 also play from the top and the ball is handed to the candidate to play the back technique closer to basket.

This type of training and testing, we put you in order to better present your future coaches, and proved that you deserve a place in their team.

No later than 7 days after registration we will contact you if you meet the criteria of tournament. After that moment you have 5 days to pay registration fee in the amount of 299€.
